Incident Reporting

Regulation 11(1) outlines the requirement for an OES to notify DWI of a NIS Incident.

A NIS incident is any event that has an actual adverse effect on the security of network or information systems that has resulted in a significant impact on the production and delivery of wholesome water. A significant event is defined as meeting one of two incident thresholds.

DWI’s Incident Reporting Guidance outlines these incident reporting thresholds, the process for requesting incident support and the full requirements of reporting a NIS incident to DWI.
